A kitchen chimney, also known as a range hood or exhaust hood, works by effectively removing smoke, fumes, and odors generated during cooking. It helps maintain a clean and pleasant environment in the kitchen. Here’s how it works:
Suction Power: The kitchen chimney is equipped with a powerful electric motor or fan that creates suction. When you turn on the chimney, the motor/fan pulls in air from the cooking area.
Capture of Airborne Particles: As the air is drawn in, it passes through a series of filters. These filters trap and capture the airborne particles such as smoke, grease, oil droplets, and other impurities generated while cooking.
Removal of Odors: The trapped particles include odorous substances from the cooking process. The chimney’s filters are designed to remove these odors, leaving the kitchen smelling fresh.
Exhaust of Clean Air: After the air passes through the filters, it is cleaned of impurities, and the purified air is then expelled outside the kitchen through a duct or vent. This process effectively removes the smoke and odors from the kitchen environment.
Generally it should be 750 – 2000mm but can vary from model to model. Check the instruction manual of the chimney model you have bought.
